Cabinet Agencies
Although varying in size and statutory mandates, executive branch cabinet agencies largely have the same basic organization and structure. Though there are some differences, many agencies have the same offices that perform the same basic functions.

All agencies have organizational structure charts that detail the hierarchy of positions and responsibilities for a given agency. Across the government, these organizational charts are helpful in maintaining structure and order in an oftentimes confusing (and repetitive) bureaucracy. The charts show who reports to whom, and indicate the separations and similarities that exist across an agency.
Cabinet Agencies
Agencies are composed of both career officials and political appointment positions that are designated by the president. All agency positions are loosely guided by law. The Cabinet agencies also include offices and employees with specific policy-focused or administrative functions, such as a policy planning office, public affairs office, Chief Financial Officer, or Chief Information Officer.See the below example of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Organizational Chart
